Obituary for Donald Ray Acker
Donald Ray Acker, 68 passed away peacefully at home with his loving family beside him. Born in Hastings, Nova Scotia he was the son of the late Obediah and Marion (Crouse) Acker. He is survived by his wife Bonnie Jean (Veinot), daughters Stephanie Acker, Teresa Burton, both of Squamish, BC and his son Benjerman Durling-Acker of Cold Lake, Alberta, grandsons, Spencer and Ethan Burton and granddaughter Kadence Acker, brothers Roland (Linda), Kenny (Carola), sisters Betty (Jim), Muriel (Mervin), Shirley, Elizabeth and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his grandson Christopher and sister Faye.
A special thank you to Dr. Swope and the Palliative care team who took care of Donnie during his 5 month battle with cancer.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Donations in Donny's honour can be made to either the Squamish Hospice Society or Squamish Baptist Church.
