Bill was predeceased by his wife Isabella (Isla) in 2016; his parents William and Jenny Skinner; Step-Father Jimmy Rodger; brother Ed Skinner, sister Betty Drummond; Brothers-in-law Davey Park, Hugh Drummond and Jackie Love; Isla’s parents Charles and Margaret Smillie; her brothers, sisters and respective in-laws.
In 1966 Bill, Isla and their two daughters immigrated to Vancouver, settling in the Kerrisdale area. He worked for The Prudential (now Sun Life) for many years until his retirement. A lifelong golfer, Bill played at McCleery, Langara, and Fraserview, but he loved playing 9 with Isla at Musqeaum, their dog Brandy walking calmly beside them.
Retirement meant spending winters in Palm Springs, but he was ecstatic when daughter Lorraine bought a house in Naples Florida… free rent! Bill and Isla moved to Squamish in 2013 to be closer to daughter Evonne.
Bill is survived by daughters Lorraine Brady (Glenn) and Evonne MacLeod (Jim); Grandsons Scott (Jen) and Ryan Brady; Grandaughter Laurie Shambrook (Mark); Great Grandchildren Jordyn Isabella Brady and Riley and Natasha Shambrook;
Sisters Lucy Park and Harriet Sneddon; Brother John Skinner (Jeannette); Step sister Jean Love; and many (MANY) nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland and Australia.
Thank you to the staff at Shannon Falls Retirement Residence and Hilltop House for taking such good care of our Dad over the past few years.
Dad we love you and will miss you. Say hi to mom and give her a hug from all of us.
A service will take place in 2022 in Scotland.
