Obituary for Mel Bousfield

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Wilfred Melvyn Bousfield on July 29, 2021.
Mel was born September 24, 1939 to Elsie and Wilfred Bousfield in Penticton B.C.
He met Lenora when he was 17 years old and they were married January 30, 1960. He is leaving behind his loving wife Lenora, 5 children Judy (Kim), June (Dan), Alan, Marylynn (Steve), Wanda (Ivan),
6 Grandchildren, Andrew, Tracey, Colin, Greg, Matthew and Courtney, 7 great grandchildren, his brother Donald, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents
Wilfred and Elsie Bousfield, sister Beverly, brother Kenny, and most recently his son-in-law Stephen.
Mel moved to Squamish in 1971 where he started working at Weldwood. He later worked at the Squamish Police Detachment as a jail guard for over 20 years until he retired.
Mel's favorite hobbies were wood working,watching sports and Looney Tunes, spending time with his family and friends, and dancing with his loving wife.
He was a very resilient man with a courageous spirit, big heart, and great sense of humor. He will be missed by us all.
The family would like to thank Dr. Cudmore and all the nurses at Squamish General Hospital .
Celebration of Life will be held at The Brew Pub on September 11 2021 @ 1 pm .
