Der Jean and family,
Eric and I are so sorry for your great loss.
We shared many Mountain Host days with Jean and Rob who helped make our days so much fun.
Rain, snow or sunshine Rob was always part of the team and ready for whatever he was asked to do.
His presence, gentle character and helpfulness are sadly missed.
Please accept our most sincere condolences.

Our deepest sympathies to Jean and family on Rob's passing.

We will always remember Rob, a great Mountain Host (Summer and Winter) He was always willing to help and a endless source of knowledge. We enjoyed talking golf with him. He was a wonderful man. So many wonderful memories.

I met Rob on my first day as a Mountain Host. He was extremely welcoming and supportive. We were supposed to be locker buddies and when I opened the locker I saw that two people were already sharing that locker. Turns out that the other host's gear belonged to Jean. Rob was so sweet and helpful he offered to make room for me and my equipment. If you've ever seen those lockers in the Springs you would know what a generous offer this was! After meeting Jean I realized that she would have happily supported Rob's decision and made room for me too. Such a sweet and lovely couple.

Even though we did not share a locker I often worked the same shifts as Rob and so we often ate lunch together. He had so many great stories of his Architectural projects. The ones involving theatre work and acoustic design problems were fascinating. But he was equally descriptive about the houses that he and Jean had built. When we discovered that we lived in the same neighbourhood he described his house to me ,not by street number, but by an architectural feature. His was the only house in Rainbow with a red door. Here was a man totally enamoured by his chosen profession! An individual who seemed happy and satisfied with the life he was living. An inspiration for us all.

It feels as though the world has a little chunk missing that only Rob can fill. I cannot imagine how much Rob will be missed by Jean and Jill and Lynn as well as Phil and William. May your wonderful and loving memories of Rob serve to sustain you over this trying time.

Much love
