It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Robert “Bob” Emmett Reynolds on March 28, 2023 at the age of 79 years. Bob was born on December 30, 1943 in Montreal, Quebec. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Karen Reynolds, his two sons Jason (Megan) Reynolds and Douglas (Rhonda) Reynolds, three cherished grandchildren Naomi, Seth and Rhys, as well as siblings Ken Reynolds, Susan (Norm) McCowan, Howard Reynolds, Pat Duffy, Linda (Gerry) Barker, and Diane Kemp Longley. Bob was predeceased by his parents Howard Reynolds and Anne Kemp and his siblings Ronald Kemp and Sandy Kemp Paterson.
Bob and Karen’s love story began as teenagers when they met in Winnipeg, Manitoba. They went on to get married in September 1967, and have been inseparable ever since. Through their love, Bob and Karen have passed on a lasting legacy of strong family values that will span generations.
Second only to his family was Bob’s love of aviation. He enjoyed a remarkable 43 year long career in the aviation industry, starting out with TransAir in 1966, followed by Pacific Western Airlines, Canadian Airlines, and finally retiring with Air Canada in 2009. Bob took tremendous pride in his career and length of service, and a wonderful benefit of his hard work was all the adventures his family has been able to enjoy over the years, many of which form the happy memories we share now.
Our family wishes to express our gratitude to the caring medical teams at St. Paul’s Hospital, Squamish Hospital, and the many healthcare practitioners who have supported Bob in recent years.
A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Squamish Funeral Chapel: 40440 Tantalus Road, Squamish, BC.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Squamish Hospital Foundation in Bob’s memory.
