We advise the passing of our dear elder Laurette Baker. Laurette passed away surrounded by love of family at Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, BC on December 3, 2021. She was born April 30,1948 on Turner Island, BC to her late parents Late George Bee and Late Mary Mountain. She grew up in Alert Bay, Vancouver, and Squamish, BC. She attended St. Michaels and Sechelt Indian Residential Schools and Capilano College. Over her lifetime she had many jobs including a cannery, Walmart, homemaking, Bizzie Bee cleaning service, and food delivery service. Laurette was with her spouse Dave Simpson for 32 years. She attended many elders gatherings, and Classic Car Club meet ups. Laurette will best be remembered for her work with the crisis line and love of her children, grandchildren, and family.



Laurette will be dearly missed by her loving spouse Dave; children Bill (Elva), Kathy (Ned), Cyndi (Dave); grandchildren Dylan (Tanisha), Brandon, Taylor, Joseph (Nicole), Dyson, David, Savannah (Spencer), Dallas Lewis; great grandchildren Jaxen, Ayla, Emmalynn, Aria; special friends Martha, Pauline (Bee), Mary Jane, Doreen, Gwen; uncle Kiyowil Bob, and many loving family and friends
