Obituary for Jessie Gladys Chamley
Jessie Gladys (Peggy) Chamley (nee Todd)
October 6, 1921 - December 8, 2018
Peggy passed away peacefully at Hilltop House in Squamish, BC, on Saturday December 8. Peggy was born in Vernon, BC, she moved to Surrey, BC in 1936 and up to Squamish in 1998.
She is predeceased by her husband Richard John (Jack) Chamley; brothers James and Charles; sisters May, Edith and Elizabeth.
At the start of Peggy's career she worked at the Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster until she joined the Canadian Women's Army Corps WW II. While in the service Peggy was a driver mechanic.
One of Peggy's hobbies was raising and showing Pugs. She would travel to dog shows in BC, Alberta and Washington State showing her dogs and winning many prizes and ribbons.
Peggy will be sadly missed by her family in BC and Ontario.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Jamieson and the staff at Hilltop House for their kind and compassionate care.
A funeral service will be held in January of 2019.
