Obituary for Jennie Irene Price (Mundy)

It is with mixed emotions that we announce the passing of Jennie Price; AKA Mom, Aunt Jennie, Gram, and Great Gram as she went on to meet Jesus face to face in the early hours of Monday May 2, 2022.

Mom is pre-deceased by the love of her life Freddie, Son in Law Lou, and grand children Todd and Aeron. She leaves her legacy behind to her surviving 7 children, 23 grand children, 53 great grands, and 15 great-great grands.

Jennie was born August 26, 1931 and raised in Bashaw Alberta, married in 1948 and moved her family to Squamish in 1961 where she lived out her years.

This God fearing, strong willed, tenacious Wonder Woman was not your typical 1960s housewife. She was nurse to her quadriplegic husband, Mother of 7 children, and friend to many. Instead of baking a cake you would often find her under the hood of a car rebuilding the motor with her husband beside her guiding her hands. Or you might find her swinging a hammer as she built the family home from the ground up.

In later years she became janitor at the local School District where she became ‘Gram’ to countless others.

We would like to thank Dr Millar and the nursing staff at Hilltop House for their unbelievable care. You showed our Mom a love like she was your own and we are forever grateful.

Funeral service will be held at Grace Church on 99, 1000 Highway 99, Squamish BC, Saturday May 14 2-4PM. Celebration to follow at Larry and Ronnda’s at 38101 Chestnut Avenue.

Service will be live streamed and can be accessed at Gracechurchon99.ca.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Squamish Hilltop House.
