Obituary for Jean McKinnon

Jean McKinnon
Jean McKinnon

Born on January 4th in 1920, Isabel Jean McKinnon lived most of her life under the watchful eye of the Stawamus Chief in Squamish, B.C. Jean as she was affectionately known, was an outstanding mother and dedicated community volunteer. Nearly all of her free time was volunteering at the Squamish Public Library, when she was not helping the elderly, disabled and shut-ins. Jean was always supporting something or someone in the Squamish community. Jean was committed to helping others, even as her mind was was yielding to dementia.

Jean is survived by her 3 children Anne, Harry (Ene) and Billy; her 2 step-daughters Francis, Evelyn, and their families; and her four grandchildren, Danny, Samantha, Casey and Amanda.

Jean is so deeply missed by her friends and family. Love from all of us.

There will be a celebration of Jean's life on July 15th at 1:00 PM at Squamish Funeral Chapel
