My deepest condolences to Helen's family and friends. Helen is a Squamish Legend who is greatly loved and will be sadly missed by many. I have known her for 30 years. A lady of many talents, she did a fine job of building me a fence, and a rabbit cage and run, back when we were neighbours. The talent she is famous for is running karaoke at the Chieftain Hotel, and previously at the former Cliffside Pub, now The Backyard. Her cheery personality charmed hotel patrons into getting up on stage to sing, or onto the dance floor, answering her call to "Dance Bi----- ! " Helen and I loved to sing duets - Barbara Ann (Beach Boys), Red Red Wine (UB 40 ), Sing For The Moment (Eminem), and Total Eclipse of the Heart (Bonnie Tyler). Karaoke will never be the same again without you Helen. Her soft heart and genuine warmth endeared her to people. She organized a fundraiser at The Chieftain for the Squamish Helping Hands Society, in remembrance of her friend TJ, who enjoyed singing karaoke. Helen chose to not let it be publicly known that she was sick. During her brief hospitalization, her optimism and humour still shined through. She messaged me a photo of herself wearing her "new Johnny Depp hat. " She said "It's actually a puke bucket" but she " found it quite stylish LOL.." Helen wanted to hold a karaoke fundraiser for cancer, and her wish will be fulfilled for her. Helen, I love you and will miss you so much. I know you and TJ will be singing in Paradise together. We will keep on singing and think of you often when we do my friend. Catch You later … xoxo

Oh dear my long life friend Helen,I met you way back in1993. I was out for a walk, found the Cliffside and then found you. We became instant friends. You introduced me to karoake there. Later, I would do karaoke every second Tuesday. You called me Whimpy, because you would lend me $ on a Tuesday and I would pay you back Friday. The trip to your house up North is still fresh in my mind. There are so, so many special times with you. I could go on for days. You were taken way too soon and quick. I know you are rock'n it up there in Heaven. Rest In Peace my dear friend.Love you. My condolences to Mother May and Annette and family and friends. Kelly Fallis

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and friends of Helen at this difficult time. She left us too soon. Rainer and I have fond memories of living close to Helen in Squamish and trips to her other house in northern B.C. May God continue to bring comfort and healing to the ones left behind.
