In 1972 Bill and Hazel moved to Pemberton, BC where she resided for 49 years. Hazel worked as a housekeeper until she was 75 years old. She was enthusiastically involved with the Pemberton Seniors Club, the Ladies Auxiliary for the Legion and with the Pemberton Seniors Club. Hazel moved to Hilltop House in July of 2020 shortly before her 104 birthday. She had many pleasant days there playing bingo, doing arts and crafts, listening to music and meeting new people. Her favourite pastime was teaching everyone who was willing the fine art of cribbage. The last week before her passing, she played balloon hockey, went for a drive around town on the Hilltop bus and of course played crib. Hazel will be missed by her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great, great grandchildren, also her many nieces and nephews, her friends and her sister-in-law, Josephine Showalter. Thanks to the Pemberton Health Clinic, the Pemberton Homecare workers. Thanks to Dr. Bull, Hilltop staff for the exemplary care that was given to Hazel. Celebration of life to be announced at a later date on the Squamish Funeral Chapel website.
