Parker burst into this world on a rainy November night. Life was never quiet after his arrival. He grew up in Brackendale with his two older sisters, Hayley and Lindsay. As a boy Parker played baseball, was a goalie for many hockey teams and loved playing golf with his buddies. After graduation from HSSS, where he earned the lasting nickname P.Dub, he took up residence in North Vancouver with his sister Lindsay, attended Capilano College and then UBC for commerce. Parker soon met Mary, and soon to follow, Hayden came into this world., where they would settle in Maple Ridge. Under the guidance of his Uncle Al Rogers, he decided on a career as a structural iron worker. Parkers first big challenge was to take down and rebuild the Port Mann bridge. When Parkers son Hayden crosses the bridge to this day, he proudly announces “my dad built this bridge”.
It is an understatement to say Parker was much loved, much respected, and much sought after to manage many types of iron working mega projects. Sports was Parkers other love. The Blue Jays, the Canucks, and the younger version of Tiger, were his idols. Parker enjoyed travelling with his family to the US to watch the Blue Jays play in the major league stadiums, taking his dad also, to Chicago. Next up was Boston. It was a goal of Parkers to watch the Blue Jays at every Major league statium. The elusive game of golf was his nemesis and his passion. Trying to master the game was always just one swing away.
Parker loved his family, Mary and Hayden, and his faithful dog Paisley.
More recently Parker had purchased a house on an acreage overlooking the Kettle Valley River in Christina Lake. He had taken up snowmobiling and had many, many plans to explore the West Kootenays. He was a member at the Christina Lake Golf Club. He loved this new home and had recently said it was the first time he truly felt at home.
He will forever be missed and forever loved.
Mary, Hayden, Janice, Jack, Marina, Lindsay & Shanne, Dee, his friend Quinn and his two nieces, Mavis and Madelyn. Pre deceased by his sister Hayley and his grandparents.
