Eugene Charles Peirce, 84, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on February 18th, 2020. Known as Gene to most, his kindness and generous spirit, his integrity and love of his family and dogs, and his playful sense of mischievousness, will be remembered fondly by his friends and family. Survived by his wife of 63 years, Sara aka Sally, his sister, Esther (Charles), his children: Diane (Teri), Barton, and Hannah (Ed), his grandchildren: Caroline (Craig), Katherine (Matthew), Michael, Erin (Adam), Leigh (Samantha), Tessa (Nicholas), and Tamara, and his great-grandchildren: William, Samuel, Owen, and Bruce. The family is grateful to Hilltop House, Squamish Hospital, and the health system of BC for their care of Gene; in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Heart & Stoke Foundation, & St. John's Anglican Church, Squamish. A celebration of life will be held at St. John’s Anglican Church, Squamish on March 7th at 1 pm.

I am so sad about Gene's passing, and sad for Sally and their wonderful family who all meant so much to him.
I had the amazing experience of being a church warden alongside Gene at St. John's in Squamish. Gene was a fun upbeat guy to be working and worshiping with, but most of all he was encouraging. He always encouraged me and others to live life to our full potential with grace and confidence and a smile on our face. He will be sorely missed.
Rest in the peace of God Gene.

The Calders are all so sorry to have lost our beloved Gene. We have been as close as family for 60 years, and hold so many wonderful memories through the years. They all bring smiles and chuckles. What a wonderful, loving spirit Gene had. Always up for an adventure, always a smile on his face.
Memories of Dufferin Road Christmas morning fashion shows and Hallowe'en parties with the best costumes of all. Of trips to Vermont singing 'Green Grow the Rushes O' in the car. Of camping trips through BC discovering new campgrounds and towns all over Vancouver Island and the Interior. And dogs, and dogs, and dogs!
Inspired by Gene's love and joy for his children, his grand-children and his great-grandchildren. But most of all, more than 60 years with the love of his life, his beloved Sally.
I will always smile when I think of Gene, and he will always hold a special and warm spot in my heart. I can still feel my last long hug with him. Rest in peace, Gene, you lived a wonderful life, and left us with great memories and much love.
Love Jane
