Doug was a consummate performer with energy and humor, a super active spirit questing and achieving and a man dedicated to his family, his work and the natural environment outside. Rest in peace brother, it is our privilege to have known you!...Colin & Julie Sherry.

Dear Judy, Kevin and Dale;

Your Dad was a very exceptional man. Not only was he one of the hardest working men I knew, but he did it with honesty and transparency. He was always someone that could be relied on in every way. Working with him, and being a business partner for a while was a privilege! Anyone that knew him, will miss him, that's for sure!

My Uncle Doug was the one man in my life that was constantly there for me, my Mom and my Brothers. I always respected him very much and looked up to him. My Uncle introduced me to Hockey Night in Canada in the late 60’s. I was lucky enough as the oldest child and as such was allowed to eat dinner in the living room (using TV Dinner Trays) with Doug while we watched the Saturday night game that always started at 5:00pm. I remember Doug was a big fan of the Canadians in those days. I always felt fortunate as my brother’s Greg and Curtis where left to eat in the kitchen with my Aunt Judy. Some things never change, as the years went by you always could find Doug at dinnertime eating in the living room on the Lazy Boy sectional watching whatever sporting event was on TV. Doug was a very good man, always fun to joke with, he worked very hard his whole life along with Judy to provide a good life for each other, Kevin, Dale and their families. Doug and Judy can be very proud of what they've accomplished together over the past 52 years. Our families spent many holiday dinners together over the years when we were so much younger than we are today. As with most of us life gets busy, the time we spend together gets less but we continue to hold a special place in each of our hearts for those that came into in our lives and leave us with something positive to remember them for. Doug will always be one of those people for me.
We all love you Doug, thank you for everything you did for us.
