Obituary for Colin Robert Lyttle

It is with great sadness that we announce Colin's passing at the age of 72. He left our world at home in Squamish, BC after a brief and courageous struggle with cancer.

Born in Northern Ireland he immigrated to BC with his family in 1957. After completing his schooling, at UBC, with an engineering degree, Colin spent over 20 years in the pulp & paper industry. He moved to Squamish in 1986 where he was a dedicated & valued asset to the Woodfibre pulp mill for 10 years.

With his wealth of knowledge, Colin thrived on building things & problem solving. In 2002, he acquired a 1960 Scottish 40' wooden Northern Sea trawler named 'Fifer Lady.' Over the next 7 years he oversaw & took part in her redesign & rebuild. From then on, visiting & detailing Fifer Lady became his daily hobby & labour of love. Captain Colin skippered Fifer Lady to many wooden boat festivals & has won several awards.

Colin is survived by Anna (Kirman), his '1st mate' & spouse of 29 years, stepsons Jake & Mike (Mathauser), siblings Jean (Morrison), David & Jeremy (Lyttle). Also left to mourn his loss are his extended family, many friends& colleagues. Colin will be forever loved & greatly missed.

A 'Celebration of Life' will be held in the afternoon of August 10, 2019 at the family home in Brackendale. Please RSVP by July 20, 2019 to annasat@shaw.ca.
