Obituary for Uffe Fjelsted Hansen

Hansen, Uffe
April 25, 1947 - September 25, 2020

It is with great sadness to announce that on September 25, 2020 Uffe passed away, with the love of his life Sue at his bedside, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Uffe was born on April 25, 1947 in Stovring Denmark to his parents Borge and Lise. They immigrated to Canada when he was four, settling into the Vancouver area.

Uffe loved his family, especially his wife Sue. Children Angela, Eric (Tara), Liz (Stefan), Jenn, Michelle, Krista and Lisa (Jason). His grand children Kiana, Nash, Sydney and Kelsey. His sister Susanne and brother Peter (Roxanne). Father-in-law Ian (late Mary) Harrison. His pets Bennie and Luna. As well as many nieces/nephews and extended family in BC, Ontario and Denmark.

Over the years Uffe has made many friends while working for BC Tel/Telus, Squamish Funeral Home and volunteering with Squamish Fire Rescue and Squamish Golf Course.

With his wife Sue, Uffe caught the "travel bug." He loved to travel and see the world, whether by air, sea or land. He loved to have his toes in the sand or be on a cruise ship, with his favourite travel destinations being Puerto Vallarta, Alaska and Barbados. When Uffe wasn't with his family or travelling the world you would find him at the Squamish Valley Golf course. Whether it was playing or working as the marshall. He was so happy the day he got a hole in one.

The family would like to thank Dr. Aragon, Dr. Millar, Dr. Bull and the many other doctors/nurses at Squamish Hospital/Sea to sky Hospice/Community Health for their amazing care. Also thank you to the Squamish Fire Rescue gardening crew for their help as well.

A private family service will be held. There will be a celebration of life golf event in 2021. In leiu of flowers donations can be made to the Squamish Hospital Foundation or Sea to Sky Hospice.
