Obituary for Bernice Della Boscariol (Hartnell)

Bernice lived 93 of her 95 years in Squamish. She is predeceased by her 1st husband James Armstrong in 1954 and by her second husband Isidoro in August of 2018, her brother Basil Hartnell in March of 1998, and a grandson in March of 2017.

Bernice is survived by her four children, Claudia (Butch), Mark Armstrong (Jim), Dino Boscariol (Jeannie) and Guy Boscariol (Randi), seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Bernice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and she was a wonderful cook. Family gatherings were always centred at their home on Government Rd., where we all enjoyed countless turkey dinners, an assortment of mouth-watering pies and her famous family recipe for scotch shortbread.

She also loved a good game of golf. Following Izzy's retirement, the two spent many happy holidays in their motorhome and at their summer home in Osoyoos. In later years Bernice suff ered mobility issues and blindness which caused her to make the decision to move to Shannon Falls Retirement Residence, where she lived happily for six years, making many lasting friendships.

Bernice and family wish to thank Lions Gate Hosp. and Squamish General Hosp. for making the necessary arrangements that allowed Bernice to pass away peacefully in her beloved town of Squamish. Funeral services for Bernice will be held at the Squamish Funeral Chapel on Sunday, May 26 at 1 pm.
