Obituary for Arlene Byrne

On December 25, 2022, Arlene (Fisher) Byrne beloved mother, Nanna and Gee Gee, passed away at Squamish Hospice. Born to Robert and Edna Fisher on June 8th, 1940 in Saskatoon- Arlene was the 4th of 6 children – predeceased by brother Ken, survived by siblings, Pat, Lynn, Donna & Greg. She was predeceased by her husband Doug Byrne in 2008 and is loved and missed by her 4 daughters – Ann (Daniel & their children Jonathan, David (Jina), Matthew, Esther), Donna (James & their children Sara (Roger), Jayme (Katie), Lucas, Taylor (Cole) , Sue (Sean & their children Austin (Mairin), Dane), Laura & her boys Thomas, Michael & John along with 6 great grandchildren.

Arlene loved Nativity Scenes, books, crossword puzzles, M*A*S*H*, visiting her friends in the “Smoking Palace” at Shannon Falls, travelling, the Saskatchewan Roughriders, cross stitch and peanut butter toast dipped in tomato juice! Friends and family meant the world to her and she kept in touch with many of her childhood friends.

We would like to extend our sincere heartfelt thanks to Dr. Cudmore, Dr Shaikh, the nursing staff at Squamish General Hospital, Dr Millar and the nurses at the Squamish Hospice – Amy, Pip, Jen and Catherine.

Prayers will be held, Thursday, December 29th at 7pm with Funeral Mass on Friday, December 30th at 1pm at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Squamish BC.
