Obituary for Lorraine Eileen Helen Capill

Lorraine Eileen Helen Capill
With sadness, we announce the passing of Lorraine (Eileen Helen) Capill, on Feb 2, 2018. Mom died, so very appropriately, on what would have been her 72nd wedding anniversary. Our Dad, Norman Capill, had been waiting for her since 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Fran (ces) (Grant) Wilson and her son, William Capill (Sandi Stride). She also leaves behind 2 beloved grandchildren; Sean Wilson and Jen (Dale) Smith, and 3 precious grandchildren; Jeremy Smith, Kyle Wilson and Cassidy Smith.

Lorraine also leaves behind her remaining Laird siblings and some very special friends who meant the world to her. She loved them dearly.

Mom lived her life for her family. We were her anchor, her reason for being, and the focus of most of her activities. She was fierce in her love and expectations for us all, and never wavered in wanting us to do and be our best.

Mom survived many challenges; a 4 years separation from her fiance Norman, during WWII, many surprises and health challenges, several moves: from Vancouver to Salmon Arm and then to Squamish at the age of 81, and the loss of her dear husband in 2003. Her ultimate challenge, the navigation of extreme age, she bore with determination and perseverance. her strength during this time of her life will serve as a model to those of us fortunate enough to live as long.

Go gently dear Mom, into rest and peace. The light of your love will shine on us all, always, until we find each other again.

Our thanks and gratitude for the cheerful patience of Dr. Kranz and the support of the entire Palliative Care Team.

No service by request, arrangements care of Squamish Funeral Chapel.
